The wonders of autumn and winter

October has passed us by and we are now well and truly into the autumn seasons swiftly heading into the delights of a winter wonderland! Autumn is full of a kaleidoscopic world to enlighten the senses and even if you are not ready to say goodbye to the summer shorts and BBQ nights there really is nothing like wrapping up in your winter woollies and heading out for a brisk walk, crunching leaves and a touch of frost tingling your cheeks in the cool rays of the harvest sun while the children collect conkers and the beloved family dog plays with the fallen sticks and twigs.

These seasons are great for adding a little hygge to your home and taking time to self care, love and to be present with your friends and family. The direct translation of hygee from Danish to English is fun. To have fun. be cosy and comfortable, to have feelings of wellness and contentment. To surround yourself with loved ones, friends and family enjoying what the world has to offer, taking in the smells of cinnamon and spice dancing through the air while the warm apple ciders simmer away on the stoves. Maybe its cosying up by the fire with a hot chocolate and a good book in your fuzzy pyjamas after drying off the November rain or dusting off the snowflakes and cooking a hearty meal to share around the table with conversations filling the air.

No matter what is is or how you choose to spend the end of 2018 I hope it is filled with happiness, joy and friends, that you care for one another, care for a friend, loved ones, or a stranger and May you fill your heart and home with warmth and laughter.
